SMART Dryers Description of Operation
The Balston SMART Dryers provide clean, dry compressed air from an existing compressed air supply through the use of state-of-the-art membrane technology. The dryer delivers dry air with a dewpoint of 35ºF (2ºC). The compressed air supply should be 60 - 150 psig (4.1 - 10.3 barg). The Dryer utilizes a sophisticated flow sensor to monitor the air consumption and reduce or turn off the sweep (regenerative flow) as system conditions warrant. The variable sweep system results in significant energy savings. Each membrane dryer is equipped with two high efficiency coalescing prefilters to remove oil, water, and particulate contamination to 0.01 micron.
