Overview
Kayden's Thermal Switch Product Group
contains a state-of-the-art thermal switch
for virtually every liquid, gaseous and
slurry application. We offer a series of
industrial strength flow switches, level
switches and interface switches to meet your
enterprises needs. Whether you require a
flowmeter, level sensor, level switch, flow
indicator or a flow sensor, we've got the
product for your application. We have the
thermal flow switch and thermal level switch
that can be connected to your control system
for intelligent process monitoring and
control. Our new in-line air flow meter
offers a host of advantages for pnuematic
assembly line processes.
Thermal Dispersion - Principle of
Operation
The thermal dispersion (calorimetric
principle) utilized in the Kayden Thermal
Switch Product Group is based on two
temperature sensors which are in close
contact with the process, but which exhibit
good thermal insulation with respect to each
other. One of the sensors is constantly
heated. In a stationary (no flow) condition,
there is a constant temperature difference
between the two temperature sensors.
When flow occurs, heat energy is drawn
from the heated temperature sensor and the
temperature difference decreases. The change
is in proportion to the flow rate of the
process. This same dispersion principle
applies to level & interface applications.

Ease of Operation
Ease of operation via intuitive fingertip
user interfaces, dual set points and a 4-20
mA output are a few of the Thermal switch
Product Groups' outstanding features.
Many models have dual set point relays
whose outputs may be connected to external
loads (i.e. motors, solenoids, etc,) or PLC
inputs, while being configured for fail-safe
applications or utilize the 4-20 mA output
for customized flow monitoring requirements.
The self-test and communication
capabilities of microprocessor-based devices
help reduce downtime and improve plant
safety. Upon detection of abnormal
conditions or the need for maintenance,
plant operations and maintenance personnel
can be notified allowing for corrective
action to be taken quickly.
On-line fault notification mechanisms
immediately inform the central control
system operator should a device failure
occur. This allows action to be taken before
production is affected or before a hazardous
or inconvenient incident occurs.
Centralized Control Systems
Our clients require products that
integrate seamlessly with their modern
systems. Kayden's intelligent devices offer
advanced self-diagnostics, remote monitoring
and communications for integration with
centralized control systems.
Communications allow management of
processes and devices from a single system
allowing you to make better decisions with
greater confidence.
Remote connectivity lets you monitor and
configure units from a central location at
your main plant site. Likewise it allows
sites, spread over a region or around the
world, to be managed from a central location
within the enterprise. On a smaller scale,
the switches may be accessed from a laptop
computer.
Connectivity allows more efficient use of
resources within your corporation resulting
in higher efficiency and savings - truly
decreasing your total cost of ownership! The
many capabilities of Kayden's Thermal Switch
Product Group provides for improved
